MY FAVORITE THINGS

blog pic favorite thingsDay 5 – Worship in spite of!

Now … this is where that stinkin’ rubber meets the infamous road of life.  This challenge to “worship in spite of” determines exactly of what stuff you are made!  This “very favorite thing” demonstrates the difference between a common man or woman and an uncommon Christian.

“Why are you in despair, O my soul?  And why have you become disturbed within me?  Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him, the help of my countenance and my God.” – Psalm 42:11

When life doesn’t turn out the way you wanted it to … will you worship still?
When you are waiting … and waiting … and waiting … for God to answer a prayer … will you worship still?
When your circumstances are rotten and people are cantankerous … will you worship still?
When you are in pain and your heart is broken in a million little pieces … will you worship still?
When you are all alone and no one seems to care … will you worship still?
“In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials, so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ; and though you have not seen Him, you love HIm and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory.” – I Peter 1:6-8
If you long to guarantee the hope that 2013 will be a year like no other then you will resolve in your heart not only to “worship because of” but also “in spite of”!
